While the most common surgical procedure performed on children in this country is the placement of ear tubes, there are many other disorders that your ear, nose and throat (ENT) doctor treats. Children go to the ENT specialist for problems, including nasal obstruction and drainage, speech delay, hearing loss, tonsillitis, allergies, breathing difficulty, and tumor and cysts of the head and neck.

Treatment for your child may include new medications, hearing testing, speech therapy, allergy testing and surgery.
